The soon-to-be-completed Spinifex Brewery in Cable Beach played host to some special guests on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
Western Australian Premier the Hon Roger Cook MLA, accompanied by Deputy Premier, Treasurer, Minister for Transport, and Tourism the Hon Rita Saffioti MLA, and Divina D’Anna Member for Kimberley visited the eagerly awaited Spinifex Brewery in Cable Beach.
The guests were led on a tour of the new venue by the visionary leader behind Spinifex Brewing Co CEO Adam Barnard who showcased the family-friendly features of the development that is destined to transform the Broome hospitality space into a modern and inclusive space for locals and visitors to the region. With four function areas, Kids Playground, Outdoor LED screen, Italian Hybrid Pizza oven and a 120 seat Dog-friendly area amongst other features.
Another special guest on the tour was Australia’s Northwest Tourism CEO Bill Tatchell. Bill says
The Spinifex Brewery represents a significant milestone in the region’s tourism and community development. This venue is more than just a brewery—it’s a family-friendly space designed to enhance the local lifestyle and attract tourists. With features like a children’s playground, a large outdoor LED screen and stage for live performances, it provides a unique blend of entertainment and dining experiences catering to both residents and visitors.”
He continues
“This development not only brings a new vibrancy to Cable Beach but also complements the ongoing efforts to rejuvenate the Broome community, including the $36.5 million Cable Beach Foreshore redevelopment. The Spinifex Brewery is a testament to the thriving tourism sector in Broome, showcasing the region’s commitment to fostering a family-friendly and community-oriented environment.”
The pinnacle of the visit was a ribbon-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the imminent completion of the brewery and its readiness to serve as a vibrant hub for locals and visitors alike. Premier Roger Cook praised the dedication and vision of the team behind Spinifex Brewery, recognizing their commitment to quality craftsmanship and the promotion of Western Australian culture.
Spinifex Brewery Cable Beach has partly been funded by a $ 1.98-million-dollar grant from the Investment Attraction Fund (IAF). The IAF grant was established to encourage new investment in Western Australia that will create local jobs and contribute to a more diversified economy.
The grant has enabled Spinifex Brewery to work with the local TAFE to provide education and training opportunities for their students. Furthermore, Spinifex Brewery Cable Beach has adopted a locals-first employment approach to ensure maximum engagement with the Broome community.
Spinifex Brewing Co. CEO, Adam Barnard says
“It is with immense pride and a sense of relief that after two solid years of planning and one year of construction, we are now applying the finishing touches to this monumental project.”
He continues
“I am confident this is a transformational project not only for residents but for the tourism economy as well. With plans to move to 7-day Breakfast/Lunch and Dinner in time for the 2024 tourist season, I am sure the venue will become synonymous with value, quality and service excellence.”
