Spinifex Brewing Co Supports R U OK Day 2022

Thursday 8th September is R U OK Day

R U OK? is a harm prevention charity that encourages people to stay connected and have conversations that can help others through difficult times in their lives.

Their work focuses on building the motivation, confidence and skills of the help-giver – the person who can have a meaningful conversation with someone who is struggling with life.

R U OK? contributes to suicide prevention efforts by encouraging people to invest more time in their personal relationships and building the capacity of informal support networks – friends, family and colleagues – to be alert to those around them, have a conversation if they identify signs of distress or difficulty and connect someone to appropriate support, long before they’re in crisis.

R U Ok Day recognises that mental health challenges face many Australians including those belonging to the Veteran community, as well as current serving soldiers, sailors and airman.

This day is significant in the Spinifex calendar as we remember Sig Geffrey Phillip Gregg who served with 152 Signal Squadron in Afghanistan and who sadly took his life on September 23rd, 2006, as a result of his struggle with PTSD. Spinifex are very concious of and unfortunatley familiar, with the devastation and confusion that suicide can bring, which is why we are committed to donating 50% of the profits from the sale of our F88 Lager to Veteran’s mental health charities.
