Spinifex Brewing Co are pleased to announce they have received substantial funding from the WA State Government’s “Investment Attraction Fund” for our Kimberley development.

The grant funding is valued at $1.98 Million dollars and has been dedicated towards the build and fit-out of the company’s, Family Friendly micro-brewery and alehouse located on Sanctuary Drive in Cable Beach, Broome.

Currently under construction and on track for completion in November 2023, the venue will transform Broome by providing a unique family focussed space equipped with a children’s playground, large outdoor LED screen and stage for live sports and music performances. In addition the venue will feature a 6HL Flying Foam brewery, Italian artisan Hybrid Pizza Oven and Gubinge forest from which native Indigenous botanicals can be cultivated, harvested, and used in our range of non-alcoholic beverages. The venue will operate for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner service 7 days a week and will have a focus on fresh salads and healthy meals providing locals a consistent offering in Cable Beach all year-round.

The Investment Attraction Fund (IAF) was established to encourage new investment in Western Australia that will create local jobs and contribute to a more diversified economy.

The IAF will enable investment into a range of industries, facilitating a more targeted and coordinated approach to investment attraction supporting the WA Government’s economic diversification framework, Diversify WA.

It builds on WA’s existing strengths and industry knowledge. Prioritising identified projects and sectors for strategic development including energy, primary industries, defence, space, health and medical life sciences, international education, tourism, events and creative industries, and mining equipment, technology and services.

Spinifex Brewing Co, in accordance with the Diversity WA framework, has focused their efforts on becoming more than just an alcohol producer and as such have engaged with North Regional Tafe Hospitality Centre to assist in providing a pathway and employment opportunities for hospitality students in addition to implementing a “local first” employment policy.

However, Spinifex Brewing Co look to engage with the local community through more than simply the creation of jobs. Spinifex are absolutely committed to their social ethos and values and are proud to have invested heavily in public art including the centrepiece installation of Coco the Camel, a sculpture designed from recycled materials by artist Jordan Spriggs. Coco forms part of the company’s public art initiative which will subsequently supplement the Shire of Broomes redevelopment of the Cable Beach foreshore.

Spinifex Brewing Co’s CEO Adam Barnard says

As a long-term Broome resident I am immensely proud to making this announcement for Broome. As is evident across the world the growth of family-oriented venues has grown exponentially and as I’m sure most Broome residents and visitors alike, would agree Broome has lacked a family friendly hospitality venue offering.”

The WA State government has invested significantly in recent years into the Broome community, including the $29.3Million revitalisation of Chinatown and $20 million Town Beach Masterplan.

Now with Stage 1 of the estimated $36.5 million Cable Beach Foreshore redevelopment about to begin, the addition of this family-friendly venue, just a mere 2-minute walk from the number one beach in Australia as recently voted by Trip Advisor, will only further bolster the popularity of Broome as Western Australia’s premier tourism destination.

Spinifex Brewery – Cable Beach is expected to be completed in late 2023.
