Spinifex Brewing Co are delighted to announce that Phil Thompson will be joining the team as our new General Manager of Hospitality.

Phil has honed his skills and dedicated his knowledge and experience to the Sydney Cove Oyster Bar which operated at one of the most historical and iconic venues on the water’s edge of Circular Quay for 33 years before deciding to move to Broome in Western Australia.
Spinifex Brewing Co CEO, Adam Barnard says “On behalf of the board at Spinifex Brewery Limited it gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Phil Thompson to lead our hospitality operations in 2023 and beyond.
Phil comes to the group with a wealth of knowledge, experience and first-class contacts to commence building the large hospitality team required for our Cable Beach Ale House and other as yet unannounced opportunities. I’m excited to be working with Phil in Broome and I know he will make an incredible addition to our high performing team. Everything we have done in the past 3 years has laid the foundations for what’s to come in the very near future and we are all looking forward to the incredible opportunities that 2023 will bring”.
Phil, our new GM of Hospitality comments on his appointnment “That song by Paul Kelly “from little things big things grow” seems to resonate with Spinifex Brewing Co. Back in November 2020, I was putting together a NAIDOC week menu for my old business Sydney Cove Oyster Bar and I was looking for an Australian craft beer that showcased native ingredients and supported Aboriginal communities. Well, funny how things stick in your head but I remembered trying a beer from a truck at the Roey Hotel carpark for a Broome beer festival a few months earlier. A google search, a phone call to Adam and the beer was shipped ASAP to Circular Quay. Little did I realise then, that 2 years later I would be honoured to be taking on a new role as the GM for Hospitality at Spinifex Brewing Co. Seriously I couldn’t think of a better job and I am very much looking forward to being part of this new family and helping the company grow in the years to come.”
Spinifex Brewing Co welcomes Phil to the team and are excited to share some exciting news on our hospitality projects in the weeks to come.
