After opening in December 2023, Spinifex Brewery Cable Beach has quickly become a treasured addition to the Broome Community.
Beloved by locals for its relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, Spinifex Brewery Cable Beach is set to become the new ‘hub’ for the true Broome experience thanks to an unexpected, yet delightful new partnership with iconic local tourism operator, Red Sun Camels.
Spinifex Brewery Cable Beach will become the only destination in Broome where visitors can experience the joy of feeding a camel as he makes his trek towards the famous Cable Beach. The brewery will offer their patrons this opportunity daily throughout the Dry Season, an experience that is sure to leave an indelible mark on any holiday-goer’s Broome experience.
Already, this experience has quickly become a beloved pastime for both locals and tourists, offering a chance to interact with these magnificent creatures in a setting that encapsulates the essence of Broome. It’s not just about feeding the camels; it’s about creating memories, sharing smiles, and enjoying the simple pleasures of Kimberley life.
Spinifex Brewery, with its commitment to crafting fine beers and fostering community spirit, provides the perfect backdrop for this unique interaction. The brewery’s inviting ambience and family-friendly environment make it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy the spectacle.
Spinifex Brewing Co CEO Adam Barnard says
“On behalf of the entire Spinifex team, I am delighted to offer our visitors this truly unique experience. We hope that much like the dolphin feeding in Monkey Mia, this collaboration with Red Sun Camels will also become a quintessential Broome experience that will be the highlight of any trip to the beautiful Kimberley region.
As the landscaping of the venue has reached completion we’re pleased to present the beautiful sculpture of Coco the Camel by Western Australian artist, Jordan Spriggs against a natural backdrop of native plants. Coco has been crafted from a range of recycled materials is a tribute to AbdulLatif Casley (June 14, 1943 – June 20, 2021), who walked his family and 8 camels from Katherine in the Northern Territory to Broome in 1981. In 1983, he commenced the first camel rides on Cable Beach.”
As the Spinifex team gear up for Dry Season, they have prepared an expansive events calendar that is sure to surprise and delight visitors to the region. If this exciting new camel-feeding escapade is anything to go by, you can expect to see great things coming out of Broome’s newest tourism experience.
