Spinifex Brewing Company were pleased to join the CIVEO team at Kangi and Dally FMG Mine Sites as they celebrated NAIDOC Week. The crew were treated to a special Eat Street with stalls showcasing Indigenous cuisine from crocodile curry to kangaroo meat patties and even a delicious Wattle Seed Brownie!

Spinifex were excited to wash all this awesome food down with samples from our delicious non-alcoholic, Gubinge Ginger Beer. We received positive reports all around and a few of the crew at Kangi camp, shared that they have fond memories of wild harvesting Gubinge in the Kimberley as kids!
Spinifex Brewing Company are proud to have worked closely with Robert Dann, a Nyul Nyul man (his ancestral tribe from the Beagle Bay region) for the the 10-month production process which included research, planning, harvesting and production.

Robert was instrumental in leading the wild harvesting process within Aboriginal communities on the remote Dampier Peninsula, in Western Australia’s Kimberley region. The project engaged more than 400 Indigenous people from communities on the peninsula, with over 1 Tonne of Gubinge being harvested and infused into the non-alcoholic product.
